Step 1: Access cPanel and Login #

The first step you’ll need to take is visit cPanel for your Godaddy hosting account. If you’re unsure of what this is, it will be on the Godaddy hosting service page, alongside your account information. Once you’ve visited the cPanel page, simply log in by entering your Godaddy account’s username and password, to get access to the cPanel.

Step 2: Find Softaculous #

Once logged in to cPanel, look for the ‘Software’ heading and then click on ‘Softaculous’. This will give you access to the site and open the page.

Step 3: Choose Your WordPress Term #

The page will have several options, depending on your specific requirements. For a WordPress install, choose the ‘WordPress’ option and click the ‘Install Now’ button.

Step 4: Enter Your Domain & Set Up Your Admin Account #

This will launch a dialogue box where you’ll be given the information required for a successful install. First, select the domain you want to install WordPress onto. It should be listed previously, and you can also select sub-domains if you so wish. Next, enter a username for your admin account and a password alongside that.

Step 5: Choose Your Settings & Install #

Optionally, enter a title for your website. In the ‘Software Setup’ section, you can choose the different versions of WordPress you want to install. You can also choose the location for it to be installed. To begin the install, simply click ‘Install’ at the bottom of the dialogue box.

Conclusion #

That’s it! Your WordPress installation should now be up and running. If you ever need to access it again, simply log back into cPanel and access the Softaculous page.
