How to reset password in active directory

This document explains how to reset a user password in an Active Directory setup.

Steps to follow #

To reset a user password in Active Directory, you need to follow these steps:

  • Open Active Directory Users and Computers. You can access it by going to Start → Administrative Tools → Active Directory Users and Computers.
  • Under the domain, locate and right-click the user’s account. Select Reset Password from the shortcut menu.
  • Type and re-enter a new password for the user and click OK.
